The CDH Winfield Run, benefiting the Winfield Historical Society, will take place on Sunday, July 17, and will kick off a full day of festivities to celebrate the opening of the expansion at Central DuPage Hospital. Tours will be offered throughout the day, as well as free health and art related activities for all ages.
The 5K and 10K events will begin at 8:00M, with the start line on the hospital campus near Entrance #1 off of Jewell Road, and registration will be available beginning at 7:00AM.
Preregistration is available in person at the Winfield Park District (0N020 County Farm Road) or online at www.signmeup.com or www.active.com. The fee will be $25 until July
15, $30 after, and for those age 11 and under, $15. Complete information on the run is available online at www.winfieldhistory.com.
The route will be USATF certified, and age group breaks are 12 and under, 13 – 18, 19-29, 30-39, 40 – 49, 50 –59, 60 – 69, and 70+. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers, male and female , in each race, and medals will go to the top three finishers in each age group.
The run is the primary fundraiser for the Winfield Historical Society. Proceeds benefit Hedges Station, the oldest remaining depot in Illinois and the oldest building in Winfield. The restoration work is near completion, and the museum is now open on Wednesdays from 1 to 4 PM. Funds are needed to furnish the building, develop programs and create exhibits.
